It is ten years since I was given a camera and took my first pictures.  In that time I have immersed myself in the art of photography, completing a first degree and then a Masters degree in Photography.

I worked for several years for a photographer, perfecting the craft of black and white hand printing.  Aside from this and a few commercial and press jobs I have never made my living from taking photographs, and, at the age of 35, I probably never will.  Unless some generous soul decides my images are worthy of exchange for hard cash my artwork will remain personal to me.

When people ask what type of photographs I take I remain vague and refuse to be pinned down to a type.  I create art and I use whatever is available.  The work isn’t this or that, it is me.  It has little do with the camera or the process of development – these are tools – it relates to photography because I make photographs.
